Thugs Are Unaware Their New History Teacher is an Undercover Agent

 

In a secret warehouse, Damian comes to see a gang  boss for his share of illegal merch to sell. The   boss thinks Damian's acting too twitchy and  takes him aside to explain that he's heard   there's a snitch in the gang, and when Damian  plays the innocent, the boss confesses he knows   Damian is an undercover cop. Finding himself  caught, Damian takes out his gun and begins   defending himself against the incoming thugs  using both bullets and martial arts. After   beating up a group that attacks him together,  Damian steps back and doesn't see a car coming,   so he's hit rather badly. Fortunately he's sore  but still conscious and he goes after the boss to   arrest him only to hear that when the gang learned  about Damian's true identity, they also learned   about the existence of his wife. Terrified of  the implication, Damian rushes back to his house,   but it's already too late: his wife is dead.  Years later, Szymon is starting another class   at the local school when he notices a student  is missing for the second time in a row.

The   other teens explain this boy has fallen victim to  addiction and Emilia, who used to be addicted too,   tried to make him see reason but she was ignored.  At that moment, Szymon's son Kamil gets a call   from the missing boy's mother, sadly informing  him that the student has been found dead. This   isn't the first time this has happened in this  school, the institution has a serious problem with   illegal merch being sold on its premises. Tired  of losing students to addiction, Szymon calls his   best friend Damian to get his help, but Damian  lets the voicemail pick up the message because   he isn't doing so well himself. Since he lost his  wife, he started to depend on alcohol too much and   he got fired from the police force, nowadays he's  nothing but a drunkard.

However when night falls,   Damian decides to get himself together and pay  Szymon a visit to hear him out. Szymon tells him   all about the problems the school is going through  while Kamil overhears from the hallway, but Damian   refuses to help, explaining he can't even help  himself. Afterward, Damian goes to a store to buy   more alcohol, where three thugs try to steal  his waller. Damian first asks for it calmly,   but since they don't take him seriously, he  immediately beats them up by grabbing things from   around the store. Another shopper is annoyed by  the commotion and gives Damian a bottle of whisky   just to get him to leave quickly. Meanwhile Szymon  visits a warehouse at an address he heard one of   the kids mentioning, but as soon as he reaches the  door, he's caught red-handed. The next morning,   Damian wakes up to see devastating news on the tv:  Szymon was found dead in the warehouse.

 Because   of the position he was found in, the police are  saying he was the one behind the operation and   that he finished things himself because he felt  guilty over the loss of his student. Damian can   tell his friend is being framed, so he goes to  Szymon's house to investigate, ignoring all the reporters on the street. He gets to enter because  he still has a few buddies in the force, and gets   to comfort Szymon's wife, assuring her that she's  right to think her husband was framed. When a detective makes fun of Kamil for having a criminal  dad, Kamil tries to attack him, thus Damian has to cut in and explain he's just a teenager in shock  to save him from getting arrested. Sometime later, Damian decides he must clean his best friend's  name and gets in contact with a shady friend to acquire fake papers. Then he goes to the school  and pretends to be a teacher that has come for an interview to take Szymon's position, which begins  rather awkwardly when the secretary warns him not to apply because the school's too dangerous.

 Their  conversation is interrupted by Principal Leszek, who hires Damian because he's the only applicant,  and promises he'll be safe because he's hired a security team. He also calls for his deputy Agata,  who will be in charge to show Damian around the  place when he starts to work tomorrow. The next  day, Damian arrives at the school and sees Jaro  take some flowers from the memorial for the dead  student, so he tries to make him put them back. Jaro doesn't take this well and calls for his gang  buddy Mammoth to beat Damian up, but Mammoth is still a shy boy under social pressure and barely  moves at all. Before things get to escalate,  security leader Chmielski shows up with his men and sends the teens to the principal's   office. He wants to confront Damian as well, but Agata soon comes to his rescue and explains he's   the new teacher.

 Afterward, Agata shows him  around and introduces him to their coworkers,   including chemistry teacher Stefan, before taking  him to meet his class, although Kamil isn't coming back to school yet because he'll need some  time to grieve. The class is rather rowdy,   but Damian immediately puts them in their place  by taking a student's phone and not falling for   their taunts. One teen isn't as obedient though:  Frogface keeps bothering a classmate and ignoring   Damian's warnings until Damian has no choice but  to kick him out. Frogface refuses to go, so Agata   sends Chmielski to escort him away. On his way  out, Frogface threatens to meet Agata later.   At the end of the day, Agata's at the parking lot  when she's suddenly approached by Frogface and his   gang buddies, who have stolen her car keys and now  catch her with the intention of getting revenge. 

Nearby, Damian discovers someone has slashed  his tires, and another teacher offers to take   him home. As soon as they enter the parking lot,  they see Agata in danger, and Damian comes to her   rescue, easily beating all the thugs up even  if one of them has a weapon. Damian does end   up with a wound on his hand, but it's nowhere  near enough to stop him, and Frogface runs away   in fear. Agata takes Damian back into the school  to bandage his hand and ask about his past, so   to avoid answering questions, Damian teaches her  how to defend herself when a criminal grabs her.   Meanwhile the thugs take Frogface to see Jaro, who  is one of the many people that sell illegal merch   at school under the orders of a mysterious man  in a bike. When the guy comes closer and takes   off his helmet, he reveals to be Chmielski, whose  security company is an excuse to have his men on   campus.

 Both Jaro and Chmielski are angry because  Frogface owes them money and got into trouble for   wanting to get back at Agata, meaning a beating  is in order. Jaro asks Mammoth to do it so he can   finally get over his shyness and truly be part of  the gang, which he's only joining because he wants   to belong somewhere. The next morning, Damian  arrives at school to see his car being towed.   In the teacher's room, everyone is looking at the  security cameras, celebrating Damian's victory,   and Leszer explains he is paying for the towing  and new tires as thanks. Chmielski's suspicious   of Damian being such a great fighter, but Damian  sticks to his story of just being a teacher.   Afterward, Damian goes to the classroom only to  discover the security footage has leaked and now   all the students are watching it too. They're  super excited to have him as a teacher and keep   showering him with questions, including asking  for tips to defend themselves.

 Damian finds the   idea amusing and takes the class to the gym,  offering a deal: if they can beat him, there   won't be a final exam. Obviously they don't get  to land even one hit, but at least they have fun,   and during the encounter, Damian notices Kamil  comes to watch only to leave when he realizes   who the teacher is. Damian follows Kamil to the  changing room to explain he's here to find clues   and prove Szymon's innocent, but Kamil reacts by  jumping on him, furious because Damian didn't help   his father when he needed him the most. To Kamil's  surprise, Damian agrees and explains he feels   responsible for Szymon's death. It may be too late  to save him, but he wants to save the students,   and this makes Kamil accept to keep the secret.  At the end of the day, Damian's car is back in   perfect condition, and he asks Agata to go out for  a drink. They have lots of fun together at a bar,   but things get tense when Damian notices some  men throwing slurs at two girls in love.

 Damian   comes in their defense, and when the men don't  back off, another fight starts. Since these   guys are so drunk, Damian plays around with them  instead of beating them quickly, putting a smile   on Agata's face. Afterward, Agata invites Damian  to her place, where they arrive already sharing   kisses. When Agata goes to the kitchen to get  some wine, Damian's suddenly smacked by a wave   of memories of his wife, showing the sweet moments  and the disturbing end. Damian decides he can't do   this now and gets out without saying a word,  leaving Agata to reach the worst conclusions.   On his way home, Damian sees Mammoth selling the  merch and takes the chance to scold him for it,   reminding him he has a brain and doesn't belong  in a gang.

Damian also tries to get some intel,   but Mammoth explains he can't say anything  before running away. Sometime later at school,   Emilia sees one of her friends buying merch too  and tries to warn her against it because she knows   how bad it can be. Jaro immediately interrupts the  conversation and sends his guys to grab Emilia,   prompting Kamil to come to save her. Unfortunately  he doesn't know how to fight and the gang members   quickly beat him up, then Jaro uses him as  an example of what will happen to anyone that   dares to intervene in the future. When Damian  arrives at the school, Agata treats him with   cold professionalism instead of the camaraderie  from last night. Once class starts, Damian finds   Kamil's face all black-and-blue, but the teen only  says he fell, and nobody dares to snitch on Jaro.  

 Damian scolds them for not defending themselves,  but the students remind him they don't know how.   Determined to help them, Damian invites the group  to come to his old dojo after class. The place   is in serious need of renovations and that almost  makes the students want to quit, but Kamil offers   his support and that inspires everyone to stay.  With everyone's help, the dojo gets cleaned in   just a couple of days, and Damian puts extra  effort into teaching everyone his best moves,   being delighted to see how quickly they learn. At  school, he continues to teach History and tries   to connect with Agata, but she still treats him  like a coworker and refuses to hang out. In his   free time, Damian follows some of the gang members  to see where they leave their merch and gets the   chance to call the police on them, now all that  merch is confiscated by the law.

 Damian feels   rather pleased with himself for this achievement,  but he's not aware of Chmielski keeping an eye   on him as well. During the next gang party, Jaro  and the others agree they must do something about   Damian. Sometime later, after the latest training  session is over, Damian stays in the dojo to train   by himself when he's suddenly approached by a  bunch of men wearing ski masks. They're armed   with sticks and better fighters than the average  street thug, but Damian still manages to beat them   all with his mighty skills, although he's sore  and bleeding by the end. The next morning at   the school, Damian notices Chmielski's security  team displaying some serious wounds and finally   understands they're part of the gang, but for now  Damian only teases Chmielski without showing off   his hand. Chmielski is furious that they're being  played with this easily, but Jaro promises he   has an idea to take care of it. After class, Jaro  and the gang pay a visit to Emilia's dad with the   excuse they want to fix an old watch, which they  took from Szymon's the night he was killed.

The   poor man doesn't want any trouble and asks them  to leave, but when Jaro is about to get violent,   Emilia shows up. After sending her father to  the other room, she confronts Jaro, who grabs   her by the hair and demands she collaborate if  she doesn't want to lose her dad. The next day,   Damian arrives at the school to find everyone in  a very dark mood. Emilia has accused him of taking   advantage of her in the dojo, and now Leszer is  firing him. Agata and the students don't trust him   anymore, and as the security team escorts Damian  out of the building, Kamil comes after him to insult him for having tricked him into believing  he was a good guy. Damian doesn't reply because he knows his word won't be believed. Meanwhile  Emilia's so overwhelmed with guilt that she falls back into her old addiction. In the evening,  Damian pays her a visit to try to understand what   happened, and Emilia explains the threat against  her dad.

 Damian feels guilty about this too and   takes the merch away from her, but before he can  do more, Emilia's dad shows up and kicks Damian   out. Afterward, Damian visits Frogface at the  hospital to try to get him to talk, convincing him   to collaborate by showing him his own reflection,  which means he's already been abandoned by his   gang. In the end, Frogface confesses they don't  bring the merch into the school from outside, they   make it inside the school's labs. Damian rushes  to see Agata, intending to share this huge clue,   but Agata still doesn't want anything to do with  him and kicks him out. While she turns around to   call the police, Damian steals her school keys  since she has access to the whole building. At   the school, Damian finds the security guards are  still around and has to sneak around carefully,   hiding in a closet when necessary to avoid  being seen.

Once the guards are out of the way,   he sneaks into the chemistry lab, where he finds  proof that the merch is being made there. Suddenly   Damian hears some steps and hides just in time to  see Stefan coming in, because it turns out he's   the one in charge of cooking. Fortunately Stefan  leaves quickly to help the security men load the   van, and Damian gets to take a few pictures of  what's going on before he gets into his car and   follows the van. By the time Damian makes it to  the warehouse, the van has already been emptied   and he gets attacked by the security team, but he  easily beats them up by stealing their own taser   and using it against them. Afterward, he calls  Agata and leaves her a message in her voicemail   explaining everything. The next day, Damian  presents the pictures to Agata and Leszer,   who points out that the pictures are blurry and  not good evidence

. This is the reason why Damian   didn't go to the police. When Leszer calls Stefan  and Chmielski to check, Stefan just says he worked   late on an experiment for class and the security  team helped him clean up. Chmielski insists Szymon   was the real dealer and Damian falls for the bait,  but the guards stop him before he can get violent.   Damian is kicked out, but Agata stays suspicious,  so she goes to see Emilia, whose guilt makes her   confess everything. Later, Damian gets access to  the school security cameras and discovers they   deleted all the footage of the merch being moved.  Feeling like he's losing control of the case,   Damian begins drinking, and only stops when Agata  comes by to apologize for not believing him.   Damian finally shares his whole story with her and  Agata kisses him to comfort him before agreeing to   help. Then the duo visits Stefan to demand some  answers, but Stefan doesn't give them any names,   he only explains he's cooking for a gang because  they threatened with killing his wife. Suddenly,   Chmielski shows up on his bike and shoots  Stefan, but he only gives Damian a dirty   look before driving away. The next day at school,  Leszek asks Agata to clean Stefan's locker while   he has a meeting with Emilia, who has come to  confess. In Stefan's locker, Agata's shocked   to find a hidden notebook with notes about the  merch and keeps it for herself.

 A few hours later,   Kamil and the other students go to the dojo to  apologize to Damian because Emilia told them the   truth. The happy reunion's suddenly interrupted by  a call from Agata, informing them that Emilia was   attacked and now she's in a coma. When the group  makes it to the hospital, Agata shows Damian the   notebook, which includes a map of the warehouse  and where to find the hidden merch. Later in the   evening, Damian makes his way to the warehouse,  unaware that Chmielski is still keeping an eye   on him. When he arrives, Damian immediately knocks  out the first guard he sees then turns around to   be startled by Agata, who has come to help. With  the map from the notebook, they easily find the   merch, but soon they find themselves surrounded by  Chmielski, Jaro, the gang, and one huge surprise:   the actual leader behind the operation is Leszek,  who has given up on the current generation because   they don't care about their studies.

Leszek  taunts Damian by showing him Szymon's watch,   but the conversation is interrupted by Mammoth,  who has seen the error of his way and brought the   whole class with him. A fight between both teams  begins then, and Damian watches with pride how   his students beat up the gang, including Jaro.  Chmielski is running away so Damian goes after   him, starting a fight with both of them armed.  Damian's winning so Chmielski decides to rip some   wires from the wall to try to electrocute him, but  Damian disarms him with a kick.

When Kamil shows   up and distracts Chmielski, Damian pushes him  against the wires and electrocutes him to death.   Afterward, they go looking for Agata, who has been  captured by Leszek. The principal has a gun out,   but Damian doesn't care and hits him anyway,  instantly releasing Agata. As soon as they   turn around, Leszek shows he's still conscious  and takes out another gun from his sock, but   before he can shoot, Kamil releases a container  of toys on top of him, now getting him for good.   Damian uses the chance to recover Szymon's watch  and hands it to Kamil as a memory of his father   while they watch the police and the ambulances  arrive to take care of all the young heroes.

The Last Man on Earth Unknowingly Captured The Girl of a Zombie Lord

In the near future, scientists manage to reprogram  the measles virus to help cure diseases instead   of causing them, and they even manage to cure  cancer. However they lose control of this virus   and it ends up infecting most of the population,  transforming them into dangerous mutants called   Darkseekers, who feed on people and are weak to  sunlight. Three years after the initial outbreak,   New York City is a complete wasteland, to the  point where the zoo animals now freely walk around   the streets. The only survivor is Robert, a former  army virologist that spends his days with his dog   Sam. Whenever they go hunting, Sam helps Robert  find the animals, and he chases them through the   streets in whatever car he fells like taking that  day.

Robert is always armed and a great shooter,   but he also has a good heart and when he sees  families of lions hunting too, he lets them   have the meat. He also keeps an alarm on his  watch to make sure he isn't out when the sun   sets. As soon as the alarm goes off, Robert rushes  back to the same house he's lived in since before   the outbreak, which has been fortified to the  max. Robert can shut all the doors and windows,   and he always makes sure to bleach the front steps  so that the Darkseekers can't find his smell.   Inside this house, Robert keeps a good supply of  food and tapes of old newscasts that allow him to   stay sane by pretending he's going through an old  routine. He also listens to music, talks to Sam,   and does the usual chores like bathing his dog  and cooking for both of them. No matter how much   he tries to distract himself though, his dark  memories always crawl back: when night falls,   he hides in the tub with Sam and some firearms,  and the sound of the Darkseekers outside makes him   think of his family.

 When the outbreak happened,  the government decided to seal off the island,   since it was ground zero. Panic took over the  streets as people tried to escape in hoards.   Robert rushed to pick up his wife Zoe, their  daughter Marley, and Sam, who was still a puppy   back then. He wanted them to leave the island to  stay with a relative, and Zoe got angry when she   realized Robert wasn't coming with them because  he wanted to stay to analyze the virus and find   a cure. This triggered an argument between them  that almost made Robert crash the car. Robert   hasn't given up on the idea of a cure even in the  present. Every morning after exercising with Sam,   he goes to the lab in his basement to keep track  of his experiments. Sam isn't allowed down there   because she could get infected, but Robert is  fine because he's immune. In the lab, there's a   bunch of caged rats carrying the virus, and Robert  has been trying the different serums he's made on   them.

 All of them failed until one morning, Robert  discovers one of the rats is actually getting   better. Now he can move on to the next step of the  trial, but he'll need a human for that. Afterward,   Robert and Sam visit the video store, where Robert  has put up a bunch of mannequins as part of trying   to keep the illusion of a normal routine. He  talks to them as if they were old friends and   always brings back the movies he takes before  choosing another one, he also pretends one of   the mannequins is trying to flirt with him. Robert  promises Sam that one day he'll flirt back. Next,   the pair visits the parks where Robert is growing  vegetables to take some with them. They also keep   a map of all the houses they've already visited  and choose a new one to do each day.

This allows   them to find new supplies of food, although the  things they find the most of are medicine and   cleaning products left behind by the fight  against the outbreak. Sometimes Robert also   finds really depressing signs of the people that  used to live there, like the bodies themselves,   or even nurseries that never got to be used. After  picking up gas for the car, Robert proceeds with   the last part of his routine, which consists of  going to the South Street Seaport to broadcast a   recording that invites any survivors to meet him  there. While he waits he keeps himself entertained   in different ways, like playing golf on top of the  air force's planes. One afternoon, Sam notices a   deer running around, so she and Robert begin  chasing it through the streets. The deer panics   when it comes across a blocked road and enters  an old, dark building. Sam follows it inside,   which makes Robert nervous because such a dark  place could be the perfect nest for Darkseekers.  

Since Sam won't come out when she's called, Robert  has to enter as well, and he tries to be as quiet   as possible not to give away his presence. There  are some terrifying noises that suddenly scare   Robert, but he refuses to leave without Sam, so  he takes a moment to gather courage and cover   his flashlight with his hand before going deeper  inside. He follows a trail of blood upstairs that   takes him to a body behind some furniture, for a  moment Robert fears the worst until he realizes   it's not Sam, it's the deer. As he continues  his search, Robert finds a bunch of Darkseekers   standing near a wall, thankfully he reacts fast  and steps back, keeping his flashlight away from   them. Robert turns around and finally finds Sam  hiding under a desk, refusing to come out because   there's something that scares her. At that moment,  a Darkseeker jumps on Robert from behind.

 Robert   immediately shoots him before running away with  Sam, telling the dog to take a different corridor   when the other Darkseekers begin chasing him.  With a plan in mind, Robert runs to the window   and jumps right when the Darkseekers catch up  to him, this causes the sunlight to kill the   two monsters that fall with him on the ground and  keeps the others inside. After reuniting with Sam,   Robert prepares a special trap using a truck on  a bridge and some old canvas that the puts down   at the building's entrance. He tells Sam not to  follow him for this one to avoid infection, then   he takes some of his own blood and drops it on  top of the canvas. As soon as a Darkseeker comes   closer to feed on the blood, the trap activates,  making the truck fall and drag the Darkseekers out   inside the canvas. A second Darkseeker, considered  the Alpha of the group, peeks out of the building   to roar at Robert with clear fury, only to quickly  go back when the sunlight begins burning him. 

 Moments later, Robert has the female Darkseeker  he caught in his lab, strapping her to the table   in order to test the cure he's been developing. He  first uses UV light to confirm she's infected with   the virus, and he discovers she's got a butterfly  tattoo. Robert begins by injecting the serum he's   created from the rat that did well, and after a  few seconds of nothing, the Darkseeker suddenly   begins screaming and struggling against her  shackles. After a moment of panic, the Darkseeker   passes out, and all her vital signs go to zero  on the monitor. Robert immediately gives her   a new injection to keep her alive, but he also  can't help shaking the furniture with anger at   the failure. Then he puts the Darkseeker behind  a glass door before logging his progress for the day,

mentioning the fact Alpha Male exposed  himself to sunlight on purpose. This makes   him think that decreased brain function or the  scarcity of food is causing them to ignore their   basic survival instincts, and social devolution  appears complete. That reminds Robert of the day   of the outbreak again because people were behaving  like crazy on the streets. Lots of ships were   leaving the island, but only those with clearance  were allowed to pass, and people didn't like being   left behind in quarantine, especially those with  kids that begged others for help. The roads had   been blocked by the army, but the soldiers had  orders to escort Robert and his family to safety,   thus they continued on foot. When they reach the  harbor, the soldiers used a scanner to make sure   they weren't infected, Marley passed but Zoe  didn't. Mother and daughter panicked because   they didn't want to be separated, prompting Robert  to make a scene and pull rank to order a second   scan. Zoe passed the test this time, and because  they were an army family, they got to leave on a   helicopter. Robert insisted on staying and said  goodbye to Zoe and Marley, who decided to leave   Sam with him so she could protect him. As the  helicopter took off, Marley made a butterfly   with her hands as a goodbye. Back to the present,  Robert and Sam go through their usual routine,   but at the end of the day when they're about to  go home, some strange happens. There's a mannequin   near the bridge,

 and Robert is sure he didn't put  it there. Feeling like he's going crazy, Robert   shoots at the mannequin as if to prove it isn't  real, the mannequin just falls to the ground. Then   Robert thinks he can hear some whispering around  him and begins shooting at the air like crazy.   Since nothing happens, Robert decides to check  out the mannequin, but as soon as he comes closer,   a car falls and he's caught by a rope: it turns  out the Darkseekers copied his trap. Sam hits his   head and he passes out as blood begins to drip  on the ground. Moments later, Robert wakes up   when his watch's alarm goes off. Sam is still  there, and the sun is about to set, so Robert   uses a knife to cut off the rope. When he falls  to the ground, he hurts his leg, and now he has  to drag his body through the ground to leave. Sam  at first follows him, but she stops when she hears   some growling coming from a building.

 The Alpha  is there with a bunch of infected dogs and he   sets them loose to go after Robert, but the dogs  step back when they almost get hurt by the last   bit of sunlight. Robert forces himself to stand up  and rush to his car to retrieve a gun right before   the sun finishes setting, allowing the dogs to  attack. One of them jumps on Sam and bites her   while Robert fights the others, struggling against  a beast before managing to grab his gun properly   and shoot them all one by one. Sam is in pain,  so Robert ignores his own to pick her up and take   her to the lab, where he gives her a dose of his  serum. Then he holds her in his arms and sings a   song for her, but little by little, Sam's starting  to turn. Devastated, Robert has no choice but to   euthanize her, ignoring her barks of protest  until she's dead. After grieving her properly,   Robert gives Sam a burial in the garden before  trying to go back to his routine.

He takes a lot   of medicine to try to forget the pain, and when he  goes to the video store, he finally chats with the   flirting mannequin, saying he promised his best  friend he would do so. Obviously the mannequin   doesn't talk back, and this causes something in  Robert to finally break. Furious and miserable,   Robert takes his car out at night to run over a  bunch of Darkseekers in revenge. He manages to   kill a few of them but the others attack him under  the Alpha's orders, they even climb a light post   to make it fall on top of Robert's car. Then they  flip the car over to get Robert stuck inside, but   when the Alpha enters the car through the window,  an UV light suddenly blinds them all and causes   the Darkseekers to flee. Robert isn't feeling well  because he hit his head when the car was flipped,   but he can tell there's another person taking him  away in their car.

 This person asks where to take   him, so Robert gives them his address and asks  them to make sure they aren't followed before he   passes out. That night, Robert dreams of his  family again. After the helicopter took off,   the government bombed the bridge to seal off the  island. One of the helicopters lost control when   people tried to jump on it, and it crashed against  the one with Robert's family, instantly killing   them. The next morning Robert wakes up to the  sound of an animated movie on his tv. The wound   on his leg has been stitched, but he's still wary  and he grabs a gun before going to the kitchen,   where for a moment he thinks he sees family again.

  In reality this is Anna and her son Ethan, they   were the ones to save him last night. Anna has  made breakfast, so Robert puts down the gun and   sits with them, hearing Anna's story. They come  from Maryland, and they stopped by the harbor when   they heard Robert's message. They're making their  way to Vermont because there's a safe zone full of   survivors in the mountains, where the cold should  keep the virus away. Robert refuses to believe it   and tells Anna that everyone's dead as he tosses  his plate to the ground with anger. Realizing how   close he is to losing it, Robert goes upstairs  to have a minute alone. Once he's calmed down,   he joins the others again and takes the chance  to quote the movie to prove to Ethan that he   means no harm. Robert confesses he loves that  film, and it's quite obvious he identifies with   the ogre because he also has no friends.

 Once  Robert thanks Anna for the rescue, they have a   little chat. Anna explains she had been on a  Red Cross evacuation ship out of San Paolo,   but those boats weren't made to be permanent. When  the Navy fell apart, Anna's group returned to the   shore to search for supplies, and someone stole  their boat. Five people in her team were immune,   but they were killed by the Darkseekers. She still  intends to go to Vermont, but Robert refuses to go   with her, explaining he wants to stay at ground  zero and work on a cure. Later, they go to check   the area where they found Robert last night  and he checks the trap, noticing it was made   from the tools they took from his own trap. Robert  doesn't want to believe the Darkseekers did this   because they aren't supposed to have higher brain  function, meaning they shouldn't be able to plan,   hate, or love.

 Anna thinks the Darkseekers could  possibly be evolving. Afterward they take Ethan to   have some fun in a fountain, and when Robert hears  Ethan complain about the cold water, he gets an idea. The trio returns to the house, where Robert  puts the female Darkseeker on top of lots of ice, thinking that changing her body temperature may  help the serum work better. Anna looks around the lab and discovers a bunch of pictures that show  Robert has tested many versions of the serum on humans before, but they never worked. Afterward  Anna finds Ethan fell asleep on the couch, so Robert offers to take him to his daughter's old  bed.

 Anna finds the pictures of Robert's family and he tells her a bit about them, explaining  his daughter was named after Bob Marley, who Anna  never heard of before. Robert can't believe this  and immediately plays his favorite CD for her, confessing Bob Marley was his inspiration because  he kept on singing even after he was shot at his  own home. When night falls, Robert seals all the  windows, and again Anna tries to convince him to  come with them. Robert wonders how she can be  so sure there's a colony, and when Anna says   God told her, Robert finally snaps. He yells  at her as he points out that most of humanity  is dead and the rest became monsters, meaning  there's no God. Their conversation is suddenly   interrupted when they hear some noises outside:  it turns out the Darkseekers followed the smell   of the blood he dripped last night and they're now  here. Anna rushes to get Ethan while Robert turns   on the lights that he installed outside, but the  Darkseekers just jump on them and destroy them.   Next Robert activates a bunch of explosives  he buried just in case, killing the first   hoard. Afterward Robert goes upstairs to look for  Anna, only to suddenly be jumped on by the Alpha.   The two of them begin to fight and Robert uses a  screwdriver he finds on the floor to attack him,   but the Alpha barely feels any pain and throws  Robert back downstairs.

Robert uses the chance   to steal a weapon he hid among the umbrellas,  and when the Alpha dodges the shots to hide   in another room, Robert shoots a gas canister to  cause an explosion. The Alpha runs upstairs again,   and Robert follows him with open fire until he  sees the Alpha jump out of the window. Afterward   he goes looking for Anna and Ethan, finding them  hidden under some furniture while a Darkseeker   destroys the ceiling of that room. There's a  gun on a table nearby, so Robert rushes in,   grabs the gun, and shoots at the monster right  as he turns to attack him. At that moment,   Robert hears a noise outside and discovers  the Alpha is back with even more Darkseekers,   thus the trio runs to hide in the lab. As the  Darkseekers climb the building to enter through   the hole their friend made, Robert and Anna are  shocked to discover the female test subject is   getting better. This means the cure is working,  but before they can consider their options,   the Darkseekers arrive at the lab and Robert has  to close the glass door between them.

He tries to   tell them he can save them, but the Darkseekers  don't listen, they just keep on hitting the door.   When the Alpha arrives too, he cracks the glass  with his mighty strength, then he makes a drawing   that Robert recognizes as a butterfly, just like  the woman's tattoo. This reminds him of Marley,   and Robert finally understands the Darkseekers  do have feelings - they're here to rescue their   friend, not to kill. Robert puts down his weapon  and, ignoring Anna's protests, disconnects the   woman from the machines before taking her  out of the glass door. As the Darkseekers   growl at him with fury, Robert picks a syringe  and injects the woman with some medicine that   causes her to wake up. The Alpha immediately rubs  his forehead with hers, celebrating their reunion   before picking her up to leave.

 Robert tries to  apologize, but he's only met with another growl.   Now that Robert understands the city belongs to  the Darkseekers' society, he accepts to leave   with Anna and Ethan. The next morning they  start their trip to Vermont, but first Anna   makes a new recording, telling any survivors  that may listen where to find the safe colony.

Alien Queen Uses Spaceship With Nearly Half Earth Size To Kill All Living Things

 

Twenty years after the first alien invasion in  1996, Ea

rth is at peace. Nations have put their differences aside and have founded the ESD, Earth  Space Defense. With the pieces they salvaged from fallen ships, they've reverse-engineered alien  technology and created an alert system against extraterrestrial threats. The ESD has set up its  headquarters in Area 51 and bases on the Moon, Mars, and Saturn's moon Rhea. What Earthlings  don't know is that are aliens out there still looking at our planet, and former president  Whitmore keeps having nightmares about it. These dreams show him the strange vision of a circular  figure with a line that he can't stop drawing. Meanwhile on the Moon base, Jake and Charlie are  towing new parts of the base's defense system to create a giant weapon. In the process, something  mysteriously goes wrong and the tugs can't keep the weapon up.

 Commander Jiang asks the boys to  pull back, but Jake ignores orders and uses his ship to push the weapon back up. He triggers the  fusion drive, which could potentially burn down the ship, but Jake works fast and puts the weapon  back into place before that can happen. When he returns to the base, Jiang still scolds Jake  because he blames it for the mistake and grounds him until further notice. In Area 51, General  Adams is called to the base for an emergency. The aliens that they captured twenty years ago  have always been in a catatonic state until now. They're suddenly awake and shaking in their cages.  Adams wants to discuss this with the ESD Director, but he's unreachable. It turns out David is  in Africa with Floyd, a government-appointed controller.

They meet with warlord Umbutu and his  rebel forces, whose headquarters are surrounded by alien bones. They aren't happy to see David, but  before things can escalate, Catherine cuts in and assures the warriors David is with her. Apparently  Catherine has been working here for a while, studying the psychic connection that Umbutu has  with the aliens. Catherine takes David to see the only ship that landed on Earth twenty years ago.  The locals had fought the aliens that came out of this ship for ten years, and Umbutu explains  that the ship lights turned on by themselves two days ago. They also discover a giant hole in the  ground, revealing the aliens had been trying to drill into the planet's core and stopped when  they blew up the mothership during the first war.

The group enters the ship and discovers the  computer is sending a signal that David recognizes as a distress call that someone already answered.  Back in the Moon, Jake has a video chat with her girlfriend Patricia, who happens to be Whitmore's  daughter. Patricia informs him the International Legacy Squadron will visit the Moon base soon,  and that includes their friend Dylan, who Jake had a fight with some years ago. Jake almost got  Dylan killed during a flying test, so Patricia wants Jake to be nice and accept it was his fault.  Sometime later, the Squadron arrives and everyone is excited to meet Dylan because he's the stepson  of the first war hero Steven. During lunch, Jake meets with Dylan and instead of being nice,  he taunts him, saying Dylan was in his way again.

This makes Dylan punch him, getting the attention  of Jiang. Jake covers for Dylan and says he just fell before returning to his room, where he admits  to Charlie he's taken it too far.The next day in the medical bay in Area 51, Doctor Isaacs visits  his husband Okun, the research director that fell in a coma during the first war. To Isaacs' shock,  Okun suddenly wakes up, not realizing two decades have passed until he sees how much Isaacs has  changed. Meanwhile Adams receives news that the base on Rhea has been completely destroyed,  and now they're on red alert. In Africa, David finally gets informed of the emergency,  but Catherine is still obsessed with analyzing the circle drawings that are all over the place.  Umbutu takes them to his office and shows him all the drawings he made based on the visions he's  been having since the ship woke up. The circle looks more like some kind of contraption, and  Umbutu has managed to decipher some of the aliens' language as well. On the Moon, everyone starts  panicking when they notice a whirl forming in the atmosphere. This turns out to be a wormhole, from  which a spherical machine that looks like Umbutu's vision comes out.

They send a transmission to  President Lanford and David, who realizes this sphere is a spaceship. Lanford thinks they should  attack first, but David points out this isn't the same kind of ship from the last invasion. It could  come from a different alien race with different intentions. Lanford lets the ESD council vote  and attacking first wins. Jiang activates the base's giant weapon and easily knocks the sphere  down. David wants them to retrieve it to study it, and Lanford agrees to send a team of scientists,  but David must return to DC for political reasons, which leaves David furious. Lanford makes a  public announcement that they defended Earth from a second attack.

Whitmore sees it on tv and  gets nervous because he can tell they aren't the same aliens, so he thinks he should warn everyone.  Patricia thinks he needs to calm down and trust the new president. Whitmore accepts to go to  bed, but when Patricia checks on him later, she finds him gone. Meanwhile Jake understands  David's frustration and wants to help. He goes behind Jiang's back and steals a shuttle that he  flies to Africa, where he picks up David, Floyd, Umbutu, and Catherine. After a bumpy ride  through the old mothership's debris field, they find the sphere, and Jake and David get ready  to retrieve it. On Earth, the US is throwing a celebration to commemorate the anniversary of the  first war victory. Whitmore interrupts Lanford's speech to try to warn everyone, but at that  moment, his head starts hurting and he collapses. In the hospital room, Okun is drawing formulas on  the walls when he suddenly suffers the same pain, and Umbutu closely follows.

People on the  Moon are shocked to see a new alien mothership arriving and coming too close to the ground.  Charlie rushes to take control of the shuttle and picks up Jake and David right before they  get crushed. Adams gets the alert on Earth and cancels the celebration while Jake takes over  the piloting so Charlie can pick up the sphere with the robot arms. It takes him a few tries  to succeed, but when they're ready to go, they discover the mothership has its own gravity and  is attracting the shuttle toward it. Jiang sends the pilots and activates the giant weapon, but the  shot fails and the pilots have to come back. The mothership returns the shots and destroys the  weapon, thus Jiang orders everyone to evacuate right before the ship flies too close and destroys  a good section of the Moon, including the base.

The ESD activates the Orbital Defense System,  but the mothership destroys all the satellites before they can shoot. A few minutes later, the  mothership reaches Earth, dragging down Jake's shuttle with it. The proximity begins causing  the destruction of various cities, and the ship gravity's pulls up people and buildings alike.  David realizes it wants to land on the North Atlantic Ocean and Jake has to start pulling some  crazy moves to avoid getting hit by the debris. Lanford orders the evacuation of all coastal  cities, but some boats don't get the message in time. David's father Julius is sailing when  he sees the ship arrive. He calls David to tell him this ship is much bigger than the last one,  but the call ends when the mothership lands and Julius is hit by another boat. The elite pilots  come from the Moon to help with the defenses, but Dylan doesn't get there in time and has to  watch his mother help a woman and a baby escape before she goes down with the hospital building.  Whitmore and Patricia meet with Adams in Area 51, and Okun escapes his room to join their meeting.  The aliens in the cages have gone crazy, and Okun thinks they're celebrating. While David and the  others arrive too, Whitmore sneaks into a sealed room and releases one of the aliens to establish  communication.

The alien uses its tentacle to grab Whitmore and talk through him, saying "she has  arrived, she is all". Catherine shows the alien the circle symbol, asking what it means, causing  the alien to get furious. The soldiers realize the tantrum is about to kill Whitmore, so they shoot  the alien to stop it. Bullets don't do much but Umbutu comes through and uses his blades to attack  the alien. This big body is just armor, and once it's broken the real small alien comes out, which  Umbutu immediately kills. Meanwhile at the coast, a group of siblings that just lost their parents  are trying to drive away and find shelter. Among the debris, they discover Julius' destroyed boat  and the man unconscious inside.

 They confirm he's still alive and take him with them. The Area  51 team scans the mothership, which helps David understand that "she is all" means the aliens are  a big hive and their huge queen just arrived. Then a reconnaissance aircraft sends them a live feed  from under the sea, showing this mothership is drilling too. It seems they're after Earth's  molten core, and if they get it they would destroy all life as we know it. David points out  that during the first war, they won by destroying the mothership, meaning there must've been another  queen inside the ship back then. That implies they don't need to destroy this much more powerful  ship, they just need to kill the queen. Lanford authorizes a mission to find the queen, and all  the pilots get ready. Drones will fly ahead to disable the shields, then the pilots will fly  cover for the bombers that will shoot cold fusion warheads that should penetrate the hull and kill  the queen.

The pilots approach the mothership, which immediately opens its defenses. The jets  try their best to fly around it and maintain a defensive posture, but the ship is too heavily  guarded and it's impossible to reach the top of the ship. After losing two bombers, Jake points  out that entering the ship is the only chance they have. Dylan agrees it's dangerous but also the  only way, so Adams authorizes them to go while ordering the others to provide backup. When  the jets get inside, they're shocked to see there's a whole ecosystem there. At that moment,  Whitmore wakes up and tells Patricia the queen knows they're coming.

 Patricia rushes to Adams  to inform him it's a trap, but it's too late: the queen sends a special wave that disables  all the jets. The pilots begin falling to their deaths, but they still release the bombs  to try to finish the mission. Unfortunately, the explosion doesn't hit the queen because she's  surrounded by an energy field. Suddenly a second wave comes out of the alien system and this  one is so big that it disables all satellites, the Area 51 base, and the president's bunker. Then  the mothership uses the opportunity to attack the bunker, killing everyone inside including Lanford.  Moments later, the military leaders arrive at Area 51 and name Adams the new US president. Catherine  shows Okun's drawings to Umbutu and he manages to translate some of them: there are mentions of an  intergalactic war and something about stopping an enemy before it reaches Earth.

 This makes Umbutu  realize the sphere wants to be an ally because the aliens are also its enemy. Inside the mothership,  Jake and Dylan among a few other pilots have managed to survive the fall, so now they must hide  in the ecosystem not to be caught. At the base, Okun manages to get the capsule open with a  special laser and scans the sphere, but he can't detect any signals. Floyd comes closer to  touch the sphere out of curiosity, and the smooth surface begins absorbing his hands. After a few  seconds, the sphere activates and lets go of Floyd before it starts communicating in English, which  it learned from Floyd's mind. At the same time, the queen gets a reading on her system and decides  to put on a huge piece of armor. The pilots can only watch how the top of the mothership suddenly  takes off to initiate a new attack. The sphere begins explaining that it intercepted the aliens'  distress call and came to try to warn humans, but the humans attacked the sphere without  asking questions first.

The sphere's species has fought the invading aliens before, they call  the motherships "Harvester Ships" because they go from planet to planet harvesting the cores to  be used as fuel. This sphere is the only survivor from its planet, and its system holds the key to  superior technology. There's a hidden planet where it teaches refugees from other fallen worlds how  to build weapons that will defeat the invaders, this is why the aliens are scared of it.  Unfortunately now that the sphere is activated, the queen can track it. David points out that if  the queen is already coming, they could bait her like she baited them first. Okun and David think  they can hide the real sphere inside an isolation chamber and replicate its radiation signal with a  decoy inside a tug filled with cold fusion bombs, then the queen will follow that signal into  a trap. The only thing they need is some way to track the queen, and Adams reveals he still  has a radar truck from the first war.

Adams and David talk with the few pilots that are left,  explaining that since the satellites are down, someone will have to fly in manually to detonate  the bombs, meaning that pilot won't survive the mission. Patricia tries to volunteer, but Whitmore  cuts in and accepts the mission, ignoring his daughter's disapproval. Meanwhile Julius wakes up  and convinces the siblings to take him to Area 51. However they're running out of gas and moving at  a glacial speed. They stop by a gas station and find a school bus full of kids that were abandoned  by the driver, so Julius takes over and with all the kids aboard, he begins driving the bus toward  Area 51. Inside the mothership, the pilots find the aliens' hangar. Jake runs ahead to distract  the aliens by insulting them and peeing on their floor while his friends steal the jets. The aliens  don't take Jake's insults well and open fire, but before they can hit Jake, the pilots take off on  the jets and pick Jake up.

 Immediately the aliens begin chasing after them and closing the doors,  so the pilots have to pull some extra moves to avoid getting killed. In the heat of the battle,  Jake apologizes to Dylan for almost killing him all those years ago. After a few close calls, the  pilots manage to reach the doors and escape right before they close. Everyone at the base gets ready  for the attack. Patricia watches her father leave despite her protests and decides to fly along  to help him. At that moment, Julius and the kids arrive on the bus at the same time the queen  arrives with her army. As the base and the aliens both open fire to start a new war, David notices  the bus and brings it over to his sector for protection. The sphere is put in the isolation  chamber and the queen falls for it, believing Whitmore has the real signal.

Patricia flies her  jet near her dad's and says goodbye before he faces his sacrifice. As David puts a shield around  the alien army to contain the explosion, Whitmore enters the queen's ship and detonates the bombs.  For a moment, the team believes they've won, but for some reason the alien army is still attacking  and the base's huge weapon is shot down. As the smoke clears, it's revealed the queen is still  alive because she protected herself with her own energy shield. David gets on the bus with Julius  and the kids so they can drive away as the queen begins chasing them. Every soldier on the ground  returns to the base to defend the sphere from the incoming aliens while the pilots attack the queen,  whose shield keeps her safe. The boat crew notices there are only six minutes left, and at that  moment, Patricia notices that the queen puts down her shield for a few seconds when she needs to  attack.

 She takes advantage of this and shoots at her weak spot, destroying the shield and leaving  her vulnerable. The queen hits her jet in revenge, and Patricia escapes with a parachute right before  crashing. Then the queen tries going after her, but at that instant Dylan and the others come  back and attack the queen with her own technology. Inside the base, the aliens find the sphere, which  is guarded by Okun and Isaacs, and send a message to her queen with the location. Dylan and his  team lose control of the jets because the queen uses her hive link to make all her technology fly  around her to form a new shield. Umbutu and Floyd rush to the isolation room to fight the aliens,  but in the struggle, an alien manages to hit Isaacs.

While Umbutu and Floyd finish the aliens  off, Okun has to say goodbye to his husband. With only two minutes left, the queen arrives at  the base and begins hitting the roof to try to access the sphere. Dylan calls the jet shield a  tornado and that gives Jake an idea: they activate the manual thrusters and let the tornado form a  fire whirl that expells them out of the hive. As the queen finally breaches the base and grabs the  sphere, the pilots regain control of the jets and open fire on her, forcing her out of her armor.  The queen tries to walk away and almost gets the bus, but David drives back right before the queen  falls and finally dies, releasing the sphere in the process. Just like it happened during the  first war, the death of the queen instantly stops the drill and all the alien ships, which crash to  the ground.

 Everyone around the world celebrates the victory as the mothership leaves, and Okun  confirms the sphere is fine. David is worried that Earth won't survive another attack, but  Okun reminds him that the sphere has a training program on a shelter planet, so the next step  for humanity is to join the intergalactic war.

It's Christmas Eve in 2022, and Dan, a former  sergeant currently working as a teacher,   is supposed to be helping his wife Emmy and his  daughter Muri with the party. Instead he's on the   phone trying to apply for his dream job at a lab,  but unfortunately his application is rejected.   After throwing a disappointed tantrum outside, Dan  joins his daughter on the couch and reminds her to   do what nobody else is willing to do. The family then watches an important soccer match, but the   game is suddenly interrupted when a glowing cloud  of smoke and electricity appears on the field and   people start coming out of it. These people look  like soldiers and they're led by Lieutenant Hart,   who informs everyone that they come from the year  2051.

 An alien species known as the "white spikes"   have invaded Earth and most of humanity has been  wiped out, so these soldiers are here to ask   for people to travel to the future with them  and help them fight the war. As months pass,   countries all over the world send as many soldiers  as they can, but it seems it's never enough:   the future keeps asking for more people, and only  a quarter of those who go come back. When they   run out of trained soldiers, the government  begins drafting civilians to join the fight.   This causes riots on the streets because many  people believe they shouldn't be sent to a war   that doesn't affect them.

 Dan continues to work  as a teacher, but his students don't seem too   interested in what he has to teach because they  don't see the point if they'll be dying anyway.   The only exception is Martin, who is obsessed with  volcanoes and always wants to talk about them all   the time. At that moment Dan receives an important  message on his phone: he's been drafted. Dan goes   to the military facility and he's put through some  tests that confirm he'll be able to join the fight   because he'll be dead in seven years. Suddenly  Dan feels a painful sensation on his arm and   discovers they've put a metal device on his arm;  he's informed that the device will keep track of   him in the future. After seven days of touring,  the device will bring him back. Afterward Dan   goes to tell Emmy the news, and she immediately  decides they should run away.

Dan points out he   can't get rid of a government tracker, so Emmy  begs him to talk to his dad, who Dan hasn't seen   since he was abandoned as a kid. Putting pride  aside for the sake of his family, Dan goes to see   his father James to ask for his help, but James  thinks Dan was sent by the government to spy on   him and an argument ensues. In the end, Dan has to  leave with the device still attached to his arm.   He returns home to give his family the bad news,  but he also promises he'll be back.The next day,   Dan goes to the training facility, where  he befriends a scientist named Charlie and a fighter called Dorian, who is going back for  his third draft. They receive basic training, which includes shooting and first aid, before  they're given a full explanation of how the time travel technology works.

The Time link is similar  to two rafts on a moving river, and a river can only move between those two points. That's why  they can only travel between 2022 and 2051,  those are the fixed points and they can't choose  something right before the war. Sometime later,   the trainees are resting in the barracks when  suddenly the alarm begins ringing: it's time for   them to leave. The trainees are confused because  they were supposed to have seven days of training,   but they're told the future can't simply choose  when they need help. Once everyone has gathered,   the Time link is activated and a cloud like it  appeared during the soccer match begins absorbing   them into the future. They're supposed to be  going to Miami Beach, but in the control room,   something goes wrong with the output coordinates.  The group appears in the sky right above the city   and falls on top of a building, which causes many  of them to instantly die. The remaining members   manage to save themselves because they fall into  a pool and they only have to swim out. The team   looks down at the city of Miami and finds it in  complete ruins. They don't know how to proceed,   but at that moment they're contacted by a  colonel, who informs them the city has been   overrun by white spikes so soldiers are coming to  completely bomb the place. The team's mission is to rescue a research team that is trapped inside  a laboratory. The colonel knows Dan has experience   in the military and puts him in charge of the  team. Dan guides the team throughout the city,   giving them indications of how to move properly  and finding death and destruction everywhere   they go.

They find the lab building and when  they enter it, they discover a dead alien,   so Dorian takes a claw as a trophy. Further inside  they find the research team, but they're all dead   as part of an alien trap. The colonel asks them  to retrieve all the copies of the research and to   hurry because if there are bodies around, the  white spikes will be back and the jet fighters   are coming closer. The team rushes to pick up all  the necessary items, then they start making their  way downstairs as quietly as possible. However one  of the guys hears a noise and when he looks up,  they finally discover what white spikes look like.  The alien shoots a spike from its tentacles,  killing one of them, and the team immediately  opens fire. Their bullets can't seem to damage  the aliens' thick skin, but at least it seems they  can slow them down as they run down the stairs and find an exit hallway.

The aliens kill and capture  many team members on the way, so Dan stays at the   back to defend them. Since his bullets won't  work, he attacks with a fire axe, which isn't   that effective either. Luckily Dorian comes to  the rescue and kills the creature by teaching the   team that the only weak spots are the neck and the  belly. With lots of white spikes coming after them,   the team runs down the streets until they find the  tank that is coming to rescue them. Unfortunately   the white spikes get to the tank first and destroy  it. Now the team has no choice but to fight the   aliens while at the same time trying to find  cover. As more and more team members fall to   the aliens' attack, the survivors fall inside a  tunnel, and Dan stops to rescue a fallen trainee.  

This delays the entire team, and two of the  trainees decide to stay behind and act as a shield  against the aliens so the rest of the team can run  away. At that moment, the jets finally arrive and bomb the entire area. Hours later, Dan and Charlie  wake up in a forward operating base in the Dominic Republic. They find Dorian, who informs them  the rest of the team is dead and scolds Dan for having stopped to help a fallen person which put  in danger anybody else. Dorian admits he suffers   from cancer, and he's learned that he's the one  that gets to decide when he dies. Their talk  is interrupted when Dan is requested to see the  colonel. When he hears another soldier refer to  her by her surname, Dan is shocked to realize this  is an older Muri.

She grew up to be a scientist, and she's the lead researcher in the R-Force,  which she created herself. Muri explains she   didn't bring Dan to see her father again, she  actually needs his help with something - in   fact she acts all cold and professional around  him. Then she proceeds to show him the recording  of a different-looking white spike. All the aliens  they fought in the city were males, and this one   is female. She's more aggressive and much rarer,  she also nests underground. The male white spikes   will die to defend her because it seems all they  care about it's the survival of their species. The   bombs the military use have a toxin Muri created,  and so far it's been killing the male white spikes   without issues. However the female alien survived  that toxin, so Muri needs Dan to join the   extraction team and capture a female white spike to  be studied. Hopefully they can develop a stronger   toxin that will kill the aliens' main source of  reproduction. The team gets ready and leaves in   helicopters, where Muri tells Dan the story of  what happened. The aliens showed up out of nowhere   in Russia in 2048, somehow avoiding all satellite  imagery and radar. It only took them three years   to take over the world, and they don't care about  material things, they just want humans as food.  

Dan wants to know what happened to him before he  died, but Muri thinks it's better not to go down   that road. Moments later, they arrive at the nest,  where they find a bunch of soldiers trying to tie   up the female whitespike. The alien is furious  and begins attacking the soldiers, killing lots   of them. Muri joins them and lands a clean shot on  her neck, giving the others the chance to put more   rope around her and stop her from leaving. Finding  herself caught, the female alien cries out to call   for her protectors, and soon the area is swarmed  with aliens. While the female tries to attack   Muri, Dan comes down and shoots at as many aliens  as he can before joining the others in the nest to   help save his daughter.

 Together the soldiers push  the female into the cage and a helicopter, but now   the males are trying to attack the helicopters too  to save her, even making one crash. Dan and Muri   run to a jeep and start firing at the aliens to  give the helicopters the chance to escape with the cage. Afterward the two of them drive at a great  speed to escape the area. They stop at a beach to send an SOS flare, and Muri scolds Dan for acting  without thinking. Dan just wants to protect her,  but Muri doesn't believe him and explains he  left the family when he was twelve because the   depression of not working on what he wanted hit  him hard. When she was sixteen, Dan was in a car accident, and Muri was at the hospital when he  died. Muri is hurt by all this, and Dan has no  words because he can't believe he became like his  father.

Suddenly he realizes he may understand James when he said that the war left him in a dark  place mentally. The female whitespike is taken to a fortified offshore oil platform, where the time  machine is kept. She's chained and given a huge amount of sedatives every hour. Dan and Muri work  together on analyzing the alien's DNA and trying to discover how she stops the toxin from killing  her. It's a lot of work that takes them many days, but it also allows them to bond again and chat in  a more friendly way while they share meals. The night before Dan has to leave he tells Muri that  he's proud of her and that her mother would've   been proud too.

Dan tries to tell Muri she needs  to rest and to give him more to do since he's   supposed to be here to help after all. Muri takes  the chance to finally explain why she bought him  here: once she finds a way to make a stronger  toxin, he needs to take it back to the past   to mass produce it and get it ready for when the  aliens arrive. That's why she's working like crazy   to finish tonight, she needs to be done before  he leaves. Dan doesn't want to leave Muri behind   to her death, but Muri points out she called  him because she's the only one she can trust.   At that moment, the machine finally finishes a  toxin with a 100% match for a female whitespike,   but it's also the moment the alien wakes up and  calls for her protectors. As a bunch of male   aliens arrives to attack the platform, Dan thinks  they should kill the female to stop the attack,   but Muri points out they only have one sample  of the toxin and it could help more in the past.   While the soldiers begin defending the platform  the best they can and many aliens crash into the   labs, Muri and Dan run around the platform to try  to make it to the helipad where Dan should be for   the timejump, which will happen in a few minutes.  The two of them shoot lots of aliens on the way,   yet Muri still gets hit by a spike. Dan tries to  help her walk, but she's in too much pain, and the   platform is about to go down because the aliens  crashed a ship against it.

 Muri apologizes for   being cold to Dan and after saying she loves him,  she gives him the toxin, urging him to take it   back to save everyone. Suddenly an alien shows up  and drags Muri down with it, causing Dan to jump   after her to save her. However that's the moment  when the time machine activates, and the Timelink   takes Dan, Dorian, Charlie, and the others back  to the past. Thankfully the toxin is safe in Dan's   hand and the vial doesn't break. Charlie is fine,  but he confesses he stayed hidden like a coward.   Dan tells Hart they need to mass-produce the toxin  and send it to the future to kill all the aliens,   but Hart has bad news: the time machine isn't  working anymore, probably because the aliens on   the oil platform have destroyed the other end of  it.

They can't go back ever again, meaning it's   all over. Dan returns home and barely can believe  he gets to be with his family again, he's still in   shock because of everything he went through. At  night he can't sleep, and he keeps visiting Muri   to confirm she's alive. When Emmy checks on him,  Dan shares what happened with older Muri, and he's   still determined to find a solution to all this.  Emmy helps him see the facts they have: they know   the aliens attack Russia in 2048, but nobody sees  the ships arrive. Maybe that's the year they start   moving, but they arrive before, and nobody notices  because it's in the middle of a frozen nowhere in   Russia. So they need to start looking at years  before that. The next day, Dan immediately jumps   into action. He visits Dorian and convinces him  this isn't over yet, then they take Dorian's   trophy claw to the lab Charlie works at.

Charlie confirms there's sediment on the claw that looks  like volcanic ash that came from either China or  Korea. They don't understand how Asian ash can end  up in Russia, meaning they need to ask a volcano  expert. Next Dan goes to see his student Martin,   who explains there was a huge volcanic eruption in  Asia thousands of years ago, if the ash was blown   by the wind it could've gotten caught in Russian  waters, which eventually became ice. This means   the creatures have always been here on Earth,  frozen under hundreds of layers of ice, that's   why they never saw the ships arrive. The reason  why they wake up in 2048 is that's when climate change finally finishes melting all the polar ice.  They take this theory to the government, but since  they don't have any proof, they aren't given the  resources to find the alien nest.

They need to do this the illegal way, and Dan knows just the right  person: his father James, who has been living off  the grid for years and has his own plane. Hearing  Dan say "I need your help" convinces James to help   with the mission, no matter how crazy it sounds.  Dan also gets in contact with Hart, who worked   with Muri in the future and is ready to finish  her beloved leader's mission. Hart brings a few   soldiers with her, plus plenty of weapons and some  copies of the toxin. The team travels to Russia,   and Charlie promises this time he won't hide. When  they make it to the Academy of Sciences Glacier,   they begin looking around the area for signs of  anything strange. They stop when they discover   their machines are going crazy because there's  a weird magnetic field surrounding them. Using   lots of explosives, the team opens a hole in the  ground and enters an ancient cavern, where they   finally find the frozen spaceship. Dan points out  that entering the ship is extremely dangerous and   they could go tell the government they've found  proof, but everyone agrees the government has   been useless and it's up to them to make things  right. They use a chainsaw to cut through the ice   and the team enters the ship while leaving  Charlie and James outside in case something   tries to escape. The group reaches the cockpit  and realizes this is a crash site, the aliens   never intended Earth to be their destination.  Surprisingly the body of the pilot isn't a  whitespike.

 They go into another room and find  the actual whitespikes inside a series of biopods,   which makes them realize they're cargo: they're  bioengineered creatures that were used by the   pilot's alien race as weapons to colonize other  planets. The team begins injecting the pods with   the toxin and watches the whitespikes wriggling  in pain, confirming the toxin kills them. However   their cries also wake up the aliens that haven't  been injected yet, causing them to break their   pods and attack. The team shoots as many as they  can, but some of them manage to escape. Dorian   points out they have no choice but to blow up the  ship, so he gives Dan his claw and accepts to stay   behind to activate the bomb once everyone is out.  James begins shooting at the aliens that escape,   but Charlie's weapon gets stuck and he begins  killing the creatures with the chainsaw.

 Dan   makes it outside and warns them to run away while  Hart and the others are swarmed by a huge colony   of aliens. Not being able to wait anymore, Dorian  makes the bomb explode, bringing everyone creature   down with him and dying on his terms like he  wanted. Dan, Charlie, and James get out of the   cavern before the explosion hits them, but James  explains he saw an alien with a red belly escape.   Dan realizes that's the female, so they split up  to go after her. The queen finds one of them and   attacks, but it turns out it's a snowman covered  in clothes that James put up as a trap. When the   queen goes after him instead, Dan shows up to hit  her with his snowmobile. Then father and son being   shooting together until they push the queen off  the edge of the cliff. They know she isn't dead   yet though and get ready for her return. When the  queen attacks again, she pushes them to separate   them, then shoots a spike at Dan before going  after him.

Dan uses that same spike to stab her   mouth and James uses the chance to hit her with an  axe, leaving her blind. The queen begins thrashing   around in desperation and Dan takes the chance to  inject the toxin into her leg. However the queen   removes that leg so the toxin can't spread in her  body. When the queen tries to go after Dan, he   gets a grenade ready to bring her down with him.  But at that moment, James raises his wounded hand   to make the alien smell his blood and go after him  instead. Dan refuses to lose his father after they   reunited, so he jumps on the queen and slices her  neck with Dorian's claw. After hitting her a few   more times, he takes out the last vial of toxin  and inserts it in her mouth before kicking her   down the cliff again. The queen crashes against  a big rock and finally dies. The next day,   newscasts all over the world report an explosion  in Russia that killed a bunch of aliens, and   the government tries to take credit for it. Dan  returns home and reunites with his family, finally   allowing James to meet his granddaughter. Now  they can all work together for a better future.

Mysterious Electrical Storms Threaten Humanity & Even Cause Astronauts To Fall Back

 

In the near future, humanity begins looking  at space for alternative places to live and   the possibility of finding intelligent life, this  culminates in forming colonies both on Mars and   the Moon. Major Roy works as an astronaut, which  has been his dream since he was a little kid,   and is currently taking a psych evaluation before  accepting his next mission. He assures the doctors   that he's fine, and he keeps up an excellent  poker face, but he can't stop thinking about   the fact his wife Eve has left him because his  work takes up most of his time. Today's mission   consists of fixing a robotic arm at one of Earth's  many space antennas.

Roy climbs an extremely high   ladder without any trace of fear, but things  quickly get nasty when a strange light begins   blinking. Suddenly a power surge causes part of  the antenna to explode and many astronauts begin   falling to their deaths. Roy immediately goes  looking for the power lever and shuts it down,   but another explosion hits him and he falls  as well. Surprisingly he stays very calm,   and when he's close enough to Earth, he releases  his parachute, which allows him to land safely.   Later at home, Roy thinks he should be feeling  something after such an unlikely survival,   but he only keeps remembering Eve telling him he  has a self-destructive side.

 He also watches the   news and learns that electrical storms have been  wreaking havoc across the globe. Sometime later,   the higher-ups from Space com call Roy for  a top-secret meeting because they're very   impressed by his ability to keep calm in the worst  situations, plus the fact he has no family to hold   him back. They show him spectrogram images of  Neptune full of cosmic ray bursts, which are   causing the electrical surges. The Lima Project is  brought up, a name Roy's familiar with because the   commander behind that mission had been his father  Clifford. It was the first manned expedition to   the outer solar system, which began twenty-nine  years ago, but sixteen years into the mission the ship disappeared and all data was lost.

Deep space  missions were halted after that. As far as they  know the crew was dead, however the power surges  make them think Clifford may still be alive.   The surges seem to be caused by an anti-matter  reaction, which was the material that fueled the   mission. This may cause a potentially unstoppable  chain reaction that could threaten the stability   of the entire solar system and destroy all life in  it. Space com wants Roy to travel to Mars and send   a message to Clifford, perhaps hearing his son's  voice will finally make him send a sign back. Still keeping a poker face while hearing about  his dad, Roy accepts the mission, although he   knows he has no choice and they're just using him. 

 Afterward Roy begins getting ready for the trip   and decides to watch the last video his father  ever sent him, which was recorded right before he   reached Neptune. The man left when Roy was still  sixteen and his message is mostly rambling about   the possibility of finding life, but at least he  ends it with an "I love you, son". At that moment   Roy is approached by Pruitt, an old friend of his  father's that will also go on this mission. Pruitt wants to know if Roy is doing well emotionally,  and when Roy explains he still thinks his dad is dead, Pruitt points out they need to be ready for  the possibility that Clifford is hiding from them.  

 The night before the mission, Roy tries to record  a message for Eve, but in the end he doesn't know   what to say and doesn't record anything. For the  next psych evaluation, he admits he hasn't slept   much but he still feels ready, so his trip is  approved. Since the mission is completely secret,   Roy will fly commercially to the Moon as a cover  and then reach Mars from there. The journey is   very calm, but all passengers are reminded that  the Moon is borderless and many mining zones are disputed territories in a state of war. When they  make it to the colony, Roy notices it's become a  commercial recreation and thinks Clifford would've  hated it all.

Roy and Pruitt take the train to the Space com base and Pruitt explains nobody here  knows about their mission either. The launchpad   is on the other side of no man's land, so they'll  have armed personnel to protect them. Roy wonders   what was the last time Pruitt talked to his dad,  and Pruitt confesses it had been a fight - since   Pruitt had thought of retiring, Clifford called  him a traitor. Pruitt wonders if Roy is worried,   but Roy admits he isn't: he thinks his dad is a  hero and is disgusted by how Space Com wants to   paint him as the villain. At the base, Pruitt  and Roy are assigned to rovers and they leave  

surrounded by soldiers. However when they reach  an open area, they're soon ambushed by pirates,   who open fire on them. The two escorting  rovers immediately go down, and Roy's suit gets   punctured, but fortunately he manages to quickly  fix it. The driver of his rover is shot too,   and Roy pushes the body off to take over, driving  among some of the base's structures to make some   pirates crash. Then Roy tries to shoot at the  remaining pirates, but they hit his rover with   theirs and cause him to fall into a crater.  Roy pretends he's lost control of the vehicle,   and once the pirates are gone, he begins driving  again, getting to escape through the darkness.

 The   base launches some missiles to kill the pirates  once they're far enough. When they finally make   it to the launchpad, Pruitt confesses he was  hurt during the attack and won't be able to   go to Mars. Roy knows he should be upset over  losing his safety blanket, but continues to   bottle up his emotions. Before Roy leaves, Pruitt  gives him a drive with confidential information,   confessing it'll put Roy in grave danger because  their higher-ups don't trust him. Roy gets in   the rocket to Mars, where he meets the crew and  Captain Tanner, who inform him Pruitt was taken   for emergency surgery. This trip will last  nineteen days, and nobody in this crew knows   Roy's real mission either. Mood stabilizers are  distributed, but Roy hides in his suit instead of   taking it. When he has a moment alone, he checks  Pruitt's drive, which shows that SpaceCom received   an SOS signal from the Lima Project crew that  indicated Clifford intentionally disabled all external communications.

 If the mission isn't  successful in contacting Clifford, then they  must destroy the Lima Project and Clifford himself  to stop the surges. Roy wonders what happened to his dad and if he really lost control, remembering  the fact Clifford had promised him they could work together someday yet it never happened. Sometime  later, they receive a distress call from a space station, and Tanner feels obliged to help them as  protocol dictates. Roy wants to concentrate on his own mission but his protests are ignored. Since  the co-pilot is scared, Roy volunteers to go with Tanner to the space station, where they split to  cover more ground.

 Roy finds some scratches on the  walls, and when he reunites with Tanner, he finds  him floating and shaking. When he comes closer, Roy discovers there's a baboon feeding on Tanner.  The animal attacks as soon as it sees Roy, but he fights it and manages to shake it off  by tasing it. Then a second baboon shows up, so Roy grabs Tanner and takes him into another  room before closing the door hatch. Roy tries   to seal Tanner's helmet with some duct tape,  but soon he has to return to the door to keep   it closed because the baboon is trying to open  it. He finds the pressure hatch and releases it,   making the baboons explode. Moments later  Roy brings Tanner back into their ship,   but no matter how hard the doctors work, Tanner  doesn't survive and his body is thrown into space. 

Later while everyone's sleeping, Roy takes another  psych evaluation and explains Tanner died without   showing any emotions. When the computer voice asks  him for details, Roy confesses he recognizes the   baboon's rage as his own, he's always had rage  in him because his dad left. However if he looks   under the rage all he finds is hurt, which is  keeping him away from relationships. The copilot   takes over captain duties and Roy becomes the  copilot in his place. When they finally approach   Mars, they're hit by a power surge and the ship  needs to be landed manually instead of using the   auto-landing sequence.

The pilot is too scared to  react, so Roy takes over the controls and lands   the ship himself, promising his partner he won't  report him to SpaceCom. The crew makes it to the   Ersa Research Station, where Roy meets director  Helen. She doesn't know about the secret mission   either, so she only gets to escort him to the  building where the other employees are working in   confidence. Roy is given a very cold pre-written  message to read, promising Clifford they're here   to help and that they need any data he may have.  Unfortunately they don't get any replies and the   technicians decide to try again later. Roy spends  some time in the "comfort room", where he tries   to decide if he hopes to find his dad or wants  to be free from him.

 When the time comes to send   another message, Roy drops the script they gave  him and begins talking from the heart. He mentions   childhood memories and the fact he's become an  astronaut too, expressing his wish to see his   father again. Roy waits to see what happens and  notices the technicians getting excited around   the comms, meaning they got an answer. However  when Roy asks to hear the message, the higher-ups   don't give him access to it and announce he'll be  sent back to Earth because his personal connection   makes him unfit for the mission. On his way out,  Roy notices a crew is getting ready to travel,   but they ignore his questions.

 Before going  to Earth they put Roy through another psych   evaluation, but his desperation and anger finally  make him crack and mess with his biorhythms,   thus he's sent back to the comfort room  for the time being. Sometime later,   Helen visits Roy to get some answers. At first  Roy tries to keep the secret, but Helen changes   his mind by explaining she was born here on Mars  and that her parents died in the Lima Project. The   higher-ups made her prepare a rocket with nuclear  munitions, which will be leaving for Neptune soon,   and she wants to know why. Roy tells her the  little he knows, and Helen responds by sharing  a video they received some time ago.

 It turns out  Clifford is indeed alive, and screams can be heard   behind him in the recording. Clifford explains his  crew started to boycott the mission because they   wanted to go home, so he had no choice but to kill  them all. SpaceCom made Clifford a hero in the   public eye to cover it all. Roy wants to confront  his father, thus Helen sneaks him out of the base   in a rover and drops him by a sewer entrance so  he can gain access to the rocket in secret. After   a few minutes spent under dirty water, Roy reaches  the launchpad and manages to climb into the rocket   right before it takes off. The crew immediately  detects his presence and Roy tries to explain he   isn't a threat, but the base sends orders for him  to be neutralized.

 Two astronauts go after him,   but at that moment the rocket gains speed and the  force sends one of the astronauts flying against   the wall, killing her. The second astronaut  fights Roy and the captain tries to shoot him,   but he fails and hits the oxygen tanks instead.  The air begins to get poisonous and Roy tries   to help the captain by putting a mask on him,  but it's too late: both astronauts are dead.   The bodies are thrown out of the rocket and Roy  sends one last message to the base, confirming   he'll finish the mission before he turns off  all comms. The trip will last seventy-nine days,   which Roy will have to spend alone with his guilt.  He connects a feeding tube directly to his stomach   and electrodes on his body to stimulate his  muscles.

 Roy tries to keep himself busy by   thinking of Eve and his dad. However he makes  the mistake of watching Eve's last message when   she confessed she felt like she didn't know him  because he was always away, he also watches videos   of the time his dad was still sane and hopeful.  All these clips make his mood tank, and Roy keeps   dreaming of his childhood, his mother, his dad,  and Eve. Roy used to wish he could be alone,   but the loneliness on the ship is breaking his  sanity as well, and he realizes how many people   he's let down all these years and how selfish he's  been. By the time he finally approaches Neptune,   Roy is on the edge of losing it, but he manages  to put himself together for the mission. He takes   a shuttle to fly to the Lima station, but suddenly  he gets hit by another power surge and the shuttle  begins failing.

 Roy tries to dock to no avail,  and trying to contact his father gets him no   answers. He has no choice but to leave the pod and  spacewalk into the Lima station. Inside, Roy finds   the crew's bodies floating around and an old music  video playing on a screen. He also finds his dad's   room, where he can see all the signs of obsession  with finding life in space. Roy goes further   inside and begins programming the explosive when  Clifford finally finds him, and while Roy keeps   his poker face, the sadness is still clear in  his eyes. Clifford explains he's been trying   to stop the surge, which was caused by the crew's  boycott. The captain must go down with the ship,   and Clifford considers this his home. He has no  interest in returning to Earth, and he admits never caring about his family.

Roy tells him he  still loves him and reaches out to grab his hands, which Clifford accepts after some hesitation.  While Roy helps his dad get into his suit, Clifford says he's proud of his son for traveling  all the way here and wonders if they could've  made a better team, because his crew checked the  data and when they found no signs of life, they   immediately gave up. Roy points out this isn't a  failure because now they know they are all they   got. They activate the bomb to explode in three  hours and leave the station, but as soon as they   make it outside, Clifford tries to throw himself  into space. Roy holds onto their anchoring rope   to keep him close, but Clifford begs for freedom  and Roy decides to grant him this last wish.

The   rope is unhooked and as Clifford floats away into  the abyss, Roy finally allows himself to have a   breakdown. He floats for a while, wondering if he  should give up too, but then he realizes he still   has one more chance. Using his suit's propellers,  Roy returns to the Lima station and removes a   panel door, which he uses to protect himself  from the asteroids in order to cross Neptune's   rings. As he makes his way back to the rocket,  Roy remembers the last words his father told him   while he downloaded the research data. Clifford  said that by obsessing so much on finding life,   he ignored all the beauty on the planets'  surfaces.

 Roy hits the side of the rocket,   and after rolling around for a bit, he manages  to hold onto the railing and get back inside.   He doesn't have enough fuel left, so he waits for  Lima to explode and uses the shock wave to propel   the rocket. Many days later, Roy lands safely  on Earth and a group of soldiers immediately   rescue him, assuring him the Lima data arrived  safely as well. During his next psych evaluation,   Roy says he's been sleeping well, and that he's  aware of his surroundings. Now he's also very   aware of his loved ones, so he's finally ready to  commit and reunite with Eve to start things over.
